Requirements for Emergency Lights
Emergency and exit lighting provide illumination and details on exit locations to help with a safe evacuation during an emergency. The Ontario Building Code details when emergency lights are required. You can read more about emergency light requirements in Ontario here.
Marleyfire technicians are trained to install, inspect, and provide maintenance services to emergency lighting units to keep your facility up to code. We provide our customers with a variety of emergency lighting and exit sign options, including LED products. We also can provide the following accessories:
Batteries
Bulbs (including LED varieties)
Remote heads
Emergency Light Inspections
Marleyfire provides monthly and annual inspections for emergency lighting to our customers, as required by the Ontario Fire Code and Building Code. Marleyfire technicians will perform the following during an annual inspection:
Visually inspect the emergency light/exit sign for any damage or power outage
Complete a 30 minute test on the emergency light unit to make sure they will function in the event of an emergency
Inspect the battery and bulbs of the unit to make sure they are functioning properly
Check the building to make sure emergency lights are located properly and advise of any locations missing signage.
