Fire Extinguisher Requirements
As per NFPA 10, portable fire extinguishers:
Must be installed as a first line of defence to cope with fires of a limited size. 5.1.1
Selection of fire extinguishers must be independent of whether the building is equipped with automatic sprinklers, standpipe and hose, and other fire protection systems. 5.1.2

Fire Extinguisher Inspections
As per the Ontario Fire Code, all fire extinguishers are to be properly inspected and maintained in order to be in compliance. We offer monthly and annual inspection services. Marleyfire technicians will arrive onsite to complete the following:
Ensure that the fire extinguisher is located in the correct location and easily accessible
Inspect all parts of the fire extinguisher to make sure they are in compliance with fire code standards
Inspect the pressure of the fire extinguisher to see if a recharge is required
Check the year of the extinguisher to see if a 6 year or hydrostatic maintenance is required
Provide and/or sign proper fire extinguisher tags
Provide detailed reports and fire extinguisher inspection certificates
If the fire extinguisher does not pass inspection, our technicians can service the fire extinguisher at our facility or provide you with replacements.
