fire inspection violations

Since being in business for over 20 years, we have seen many code violations during our routine inspections. Be aware of these violations to keep your building up to code:

Storage

One of the most common violations we see during inspections is improper storage. This includes materials blocking exits, storage that should not be on racking, or storage of items at improper heights for the building without proper sprinkler coverage.

Fire Extinguisher Placement and Maintenance

Another common violation is fire extinguishers that are not maintained to be ready for use. While this includes proper servicing, it also includes fire extinguishers that are not in the correct location or not installed/ hanged properly. Fire extinguishers must be maintained and readily accessible in the case of a fire.

 Recalls

Important recalls on fire safety products will be released when there is a danger to consumer safety. An example of this is the recall of the Edwards 280 Series Heat Detector in October 2019 due to the potential failure to operate. You can see the details of this recall here.

Regular inspection and maintenance from a knowledgeable fire protection company can help you avoid these violations and keep your building up to code standards.
