Using a fire extinguisher

While fire extinguishers are mandated to be in more residential, industrial and commercial buildings, many are unaware of how to safely operate one in the case of a fire. Only those who are properly trained on how to use a fire extinguisher should be using the fire extinguisher to extinguish a fire, a service that Marleyfire offers to our clients. It is essential to know what type of class the fire is and to make sure you are using the correct fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire.

AN IMPORTANT REMINDER:

If you are unsure how to use the fire extinguisher or cannot extinguish the fire, evacuate the building immediately and follow the details in your fire safety plan including calling the fire department.

  • Always make sure your fire extinguishers are properly inspected and maintained so that they can be used if a fire were to occur.
